Vanished, Part 5

 Vanished, Part 5, by Kathryn

"Henry," Tip started, turning towards the pale butler. "She didn't say anything when she left?"
"She said 'I have to do this!" and hurried out the door, sir." Henry's large hands shook.
Dot stared out the window, down at the busy street below. She gripped the window sill. Where was Vicky? Did something happen? Is she in trouble? Is she hurt, or-or-even-
Dot jumped up from the window seat, unable to bear the torment any longer. She grabbed her handbag and ran for the door.
"Hey!" Tip grabbed her shoulders. "And where are you going?"
"To get Vicky!" She almost screamed. How could they just sit there when Vicky was in grave danger?
"Oh no you don't. Herbert would never forgive me for letting you go down there!"
"Look, I've got this. Now let me go!" Dot held up a small pistol and tried to worm from her brother's strong grip. Tip let go of her shoulders and took a step back.
"Where on earth did you get that?" he asked.
"Herbert gave it to me so I could protect myself. Now are we going down to get Vicky or not?"
"I am, but you're staying here. Who knows what could happen. It's better this way," Tip smiled, kissing his sister on the forehead. He grabbed his hat and left in a hurry.
Dot raged. Oh, he wasn't going to get away with this! She wasn't a sissy. She could take care of herself!
Dot pushed open the large double doors and raced down the hall, leaving Henry in confusion.
