Part 4

 Part 4, by Kathryn

Dot kicked furiously, but it was useless. The man had a tight grip on her. She was gagged with a bright red calico bandanna, and the man pinned her arms behind her. He forced her through the trees. She mumbled loudly, trying as hard as she could to make noise. Maybe her newlywed husband would hear her!
Suddenly, his voice rang out, somewhere in the distance.
"Dot? Dot? Where'd you go?" Oh, how she wanted to cry out! But the strong man forced her farther and farther away.
Finally, after walking for about 20 minutes, they reached a little hut. It was neat and tidy looking, and very inclosed. Trees surrounded it, almost like an extremely tall privacy fence.
Another man, shorter than the one behind Dot, came out of the hut dressed in dirty overalls.
"Whats this?" He asked, very surprised.
"I found her in the trees. I didn't think anyone else was on this island!"
"Was there anyone with her?" he asked, eying the struggling girl.
"I heard a guy, but I didn't see him. We'll have to get him later."
"Put her in the hut with Babe."
She was pushed into the hut, thrown on the ground, and the door shut behind her. It was somewhat dark, with only a little sunlight seeping in through the straw cracks. As her eyes adjusted, she saw a desk, tools, and a brightly colored rug on the floor. Sitting at the desk was a girl in her 30s, with bright, unnatural blonde hair.
The girl turned around and stared at Dot, who still had her gag on.
"Who are you?" She asked, smacking on her piece of gum, and talking real slangy like. Dot obviously wasn't able to answer.
"I'm Babe. You know you shouldn't a come here, girly. We don't take kindly to strangers snoopin' around."

Part 3

part 3 by Rachel S
Dot was dazzled by the scenery of the ocean, and the clouds, looking like thousands of sheep grazing in the field, the white puffy clouds. If only her Sister Betty were flying, she would've loved it.
They dipped down out of the clouds. Freddie tensed up.
" Our gas, its running low!" He said.
Dot tensed up, Herbert patted her.
" It'll be okay Dot, we'll stop at a Island and radio for help, it'll be fine.." He said.
He was sweating, he wasn't okay. They dipped down on the beach and landed. There was a beach and then tropics.
He reached for his radio and tried to get connection but it was dead, out of range. They got out and looked around. their honey moon wasn't going as planned but not to worry, they thought, it'll all be fine, it had to be-Freddie stepped out.
" I think We'll have to see if theirs an army base somewhere, I can't get a connection," He said.
Dot's face went kinda white then she looked at Herbert.
" What'll we do?" She asked.
He was equelly scared but didn't show it as well.
" Don't worry hon, it'll be fine, Fred said that he'd find a way," He said.
Fred took some gear and then said goodbye and left. Dot and Herbert started to make a fire. the sun went down, the warm breeze was nice near the ocean's lapping waves. They must've fallen asleep, when she awoke, she looked around with a sudden jolt. Where was Herbert? her heart beat fast. the fire was ambers now.
" Herbert?" She called.
He walked up from the plane.
" I was just checking on the plane, to see if it was fine, go back to bed," He said.
She lay back down, but she was sure that something jolted her awake. The sun was coming up and was warming her when she awoke. Before she started a fire, Herbert was getting something from the plane as she walked over to the tropical forest, when she was suddenly grabbed and a rag was put over her mouth, she struggled, as she was carried by someone strong...into the deep jungles. kicking and trying to get away but to no use.

Part 2

 Part 2, by Kathryn

Dot gasped when they walked into the huge hanger. The small red and white plane was shined and ready to go. Herbert and Fred piled the luggage in, and helped Dot into her seat. Herbert sat next to her, and Fred hopped in the front. He started the engine, and the plane started to back out of the hanger.
Dot could barely keep the excitement inside of her. She couldn't wait to land on the small Hawaii island, and spend an entire week lounging on a beach with the sun beating down. She couldn't wait to hop into the warm Pacific ocean or go sea diving. They were going to have a wonderful trip.
The plane rolled slowly down the run-way. It began to gain speed, and suddenly, the plane lifted off the ground. Dot's stomach did somersaults and her ears began to pop.
"Here we go!" Herbert exclaimed, squeezing Dot's hand. When they were up higher, they looked out the window and gasped at the sight of New York City.
"It's so tiny from way up here," Dot yelled, over the plane engine. Herbert nodded his head.
"You guys alright back there?" Fred asked.
"Yes!"
"Then away we go!" Fred exclaimed. The plane swerved to the left, diving slightly. Their journey had begun, and they were on their way to Hawaii.

A honeymoon trip part 1

part 1, by Rachel S

It was arranged, that Herbert and Dot, newlyweds would go to the Hawaii Islands for their honeymoon. Dot's lengthly romantic sighs made Herbert smile. They had packed their suitcases and waited at the airport for their friend who had generously lent them their small plane to fly. If you didn't know, Herbert could fly planes also.
He appeared with grease on his hands out of one of the hangers he was working on a plane and a rag in the other wiping his hands off.
" Hello Dot, Herbert," he said.
" Hey old friend! Jeb! how are you doing?" He asked.
Jeb smiled. a longtime friend of Herbert, he'd actully taught Herbert to fly.
He smiled.
" Sorry I couldn't make it to your wedding- here it is, follow me," he said.
They followed him up a path, passing many hangars with pilots hanging around talking, they turned seeing them walk away.
" Herbert!" One of them said.
He was a lanky teenage boy, hurrying up to him Herbert turned and smiled.
" Hey Fred! nice to see you again! we're just going to a honeymoon," he said.
Freddie smiled, he was 20.
" Think I can fly you both?" he asked.
Dot smiled and thought it was a great idea. it was settled and they walked into the hanger that it was in. it was shined up and beutiful.

part 10

Dot appeared down the aisle, she looked stunning. It was like a dream for both of them as they said their vows and exchanged rings and then...the kiss.
Every eye was wet, the organ player played the wedding march and they walked down, followed by the bridesmaids and groomsmen, their arms interlocking and their wedding rings shining.
There was a reception afterwards, with light snacks like cream puffs with frilly looking whipping cream, chocolate covered strawberries and other simple delights and icecream. The room was bustling with people, relitives. It was a fun day.
Dot's mother and Father met them at the car as they were to leave, with Herbert's mom and dad and they said their farwells as they left in the car, Tip and  and Dot's siblings, waving as they left. Eloise, Herbert's sister. Turning to each other, they smiled.
" Are we going to take the train?" He asked.
Dot shook her head.
" Never, I hate them," She said.
They laughed then kissed.

The End!

Part 9

 Part 9, Written by Kathryn

Dot followed her mother down the church hallway and into a small room. Mother Clermond was in the room, helping the bridesmaids into their dresses.
"Oh, Dot! Does this look right?" Mother Clermond asked, showing the white flowers she had put in the bridesmaids hair.
"Yes, that looks beautiful!" she replied.
The next hour was spent fixing Dots hair, poofing her dress, and adjusting her veil. Finally everything was ready. Dot gazed into the full-length mirror. Her dress was a white satin, with lace on the front. Her veil was long and lacy as well, and reached to the floor. She carried a large white lily, speckled in orange. The ladies placed orange blossoms in her dark hair.
"Oh, she looks just-just gorgeous!" Dot's mother cried.
"Mother, don't cry," Dot exclaimed.
"I can't help it! My baby's getting-getting married!" she bawled.

In another room, Herbert and the men buttoned their tux's and combed their hair.
"Well son," Dot's father started. "It'll be any minute now." Herbert gulped. He was slightly nervous.
The men patted Herbert on the back and gave him some last minute advice.
"Make sure you don't trip on her train," the joked. Herbert smiled.
Suddenly the organ music started. That was their cue! Herbert went out first, followed by Tip and the other groomsmen. The fathers went and took their seats.
Herbert gazed down the aisle, waiting anxiously for the music to change, and his bride to enter.

Part 8

Mama Clermond rushed into the other room as the door bell rang, apperently She hadn't heard Dot in the hurry. She returned with her Mother and her best friend Betty, the bride's maid of honor. They hugged and talked like old times looking over dresses.
   ****
Mr. Clermond drove through the busy streets of New York city as Tip and Herbert sat. Herbert let out a sigh.
" New York city, its been too long, I've missed you," He said.
Then looked over at his Dad who was looking at him.
" What took you so long? did you miss the train?" He asked.
Tip looked down.
" No, almost though but thats not it, you see the train was robbed lastnight, and the conductor thought we did it and we where thrown off and... you see we had to catch a ride.." He said.
" Do the police know about this?" Mr. Clermond asked.
Herbert shook his head.
" No they don't- look we should just.." he wanted no trouble.
Mr. Clermond pulled over and looked at them both. my trade he was a lawyer, and he liked people getting justice.
" There is times I'd like to ring people's necks, you didn't even get a refund, We're going to have this ironed out!" He said.
And he directed the car to the police station and told their dilemma. the Freindly police officer smiled as he heard they had to be at a wedding ruffling his hand through his hair he took down their names.
" Well, I'll get right on it, you go and get to your wedding," He said.
They walked out, relieved for now. The police where on the crook's trail.
They walked into the church and they disapeared down to a room to get changed. Dot was just rushing by following her Mother, he motioned Dot over, She stopped and looked at him.
"  Yes Tip? I'm busy," She said.
" Don't worry about the train thing, we told the police so Mom can rest assured," He said.
She smiled and then hurried off.

Part 7

Part 7 of A Taste of Loneliness, by Kathryn

"Don't get many visitors this early in the morning," the gas station man said.
"We're passing through," Dot said, sitting down at the table. "On our way to New York."
"I see," he said. "How you plan on gettin' there? I saw that you were dropped off."
"We'll call a cab," Tip replied, cutting his sausage.
After a hearty breakfast, the cab arrived and the threesome headed to New York. Dot grew more and more excited about the upcoming wedding as she saw the tall buildings in the horizon. Not much later, the cab pulled up in front of Herbert's small house, which he occupied with his mother, father, and a housekeeper named Bertha.
"Herbert! Dot!" Herbert's mother rushed out of the house. "We expected you sooner! What happened?" She ushered the couple in the house, leaving Tip behind with all the luggage. He sighed and payed the cab driver.

Mother Clermond had Dot and Herbert comfortably seated in the living room when Tip came struggling through the door. Piled in his arms were all the suitcases. He set them down carefully as Dot laughed.
"You're parents arrived safely last night and are staying at a nearby hotel," Mrs. Clermond said. "Dot, you, me, your mother, and Bertha will be getting all the wedding preparations ready. The wedding is tonight! Good heavens we have so much to do!" she went on and on, shooing Mr. Clermond, Tip, and Herbert out the door.
"You three aren't allowed to see the bride in her dress until the wedding!" she insisted. "Now be at the church strictly at 5, so you can get dressed and the wedding can start at 6, right on time." Dot smiled at her mother-in-law to be.
"Thank you for taking things in your own hands, Mother," she said. "I'm afraid we've had an awful time getting here, and I'm just a bit flustered!"
