Part 9

 Part 9, Written by Kathryn

Dot followed her mother down the church hallway and into a small room. Mother Clermond was in the room, helping the bridesmaids into their dresses.
"Oh, Dot! Does this look right?" Mother Clermond asked, showing the white flowers she had put in the bridesmaids hair.
"Yes, that looks beautiful!" she replied.
The next hour was spent fixing Dots hair, poofing her dress, and adjusting her veil. Finally everything was ready. Dot gazed into the full-length mirror. Her dress was a white satin, with lace on the front. Her veil was long and lacy as well, and reached to the floor. She carried a large white lily, speckled in orange. The ladies placed orange blossoms in her dark hair.
"Oh, she looks just-just gorgeous!" Dot's mother cried.
"Mother, don't cry," Dot exclaimed.
"I can't help it! My baby's getting-getting married!" she bawled.

In another room, Herbert and the men buttoned their tux's and combed their hair.
"Well son," Dot's father started. "It'll be any minute now." Herbert gulped. He was slightly nervous.
The men patted Herbert on the back and gave him some last minute advice.
"Make sure you don't trip on her train," the joked. Herbert smiled.
Suddenly the organ music started. That was their cue! Herbert went out first, followed by Tip and the other groomsmen. The fathers went and took their seats.
Herbert gazed down the aisle, waiting anxiously for the music to change, and his bride to enter.
