Part 2, by Kathryn
Dot gasped when they walked into the huge hanger. The small red and white plane was shined and ready to go. Herbert and Fred piled the luggage in, and helped Dot into her seat. Herbert sat next to her, and Fred hopped in the front. He started the engine, and the plane started to back out of the hanger.
Dot could barely keep the excitement inside of her. She couldn't wait to land on the small Hawaii island, and spend an entire week lounging on a beach with the sun beating down. She couldn't wait to hop into the warm Pacific ocean or go sea diving. They were going to have a wonderful trip.
The plane rolled slowly down the run-way. It began to gain speed, and suddenly, the plane lifted off the ground. Dot's stomach did somersaults and her ears began to pop.
"Here we go!" Herbert exclaimed, squeezing Dot's hand. When they were up higher, they looked out the window and gasped at the sight of New York City.
"It's so tiny from way up here," Dot yelled, over the plane engine. Herbert nodded his head.
"You guys alright back there?" Fred asked.
"Yes!"
"Then away we go!" Fred exclaimed. The plane swerved to the left, diving slightly. Their journey had begun, and they were on their way to Hawaii.
