Part 5

 Part 3, By Kathryn

Dot looked on in horror as the train chugged into the distance, it's bright lights sending gleams into the dark night.
"Oh, Herbert! What are we going to do?" she asked, full of emotion.
"Walk, I guess."
"All the way to New York, with our luggage?" Tip asked, setting his brown suitcase on the dirt.
"We have to if we want to make it back to New York for our wedding!"
"Maybe if we're lucky, someone will spot us and give us a lift," Dot suggested.

The stars shone down as the threesome walked along the tracks. Dot shivered as the wind blew. They were still in their pajamas, and freezing.
"This is embarrassing," Dot said, pulling her robe tighter. "We'll never get a lift looking like this!" Suddenly bright headlights shined beside them, on the road. A black sedan pulled up, and rolled down a window.
"Looks like you could need a ride," a man said. "Where yah headed?"
"New York," Tip replied. 'Think you could drive us there?"
"Not headed that far, but I'll drop you off at Coonesville, which is about 20 miles from there," the man said.
So the group hopped in, luggage and all.
